| Distribution | This is a species of the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, and Borneo. It is one of our most widely distributed species of Dipterocarpus. It is absent west of the Malayan-Burmese floristic division but it is found sporadically from eastern peninsular Thailand, throughout the peninsula.

| Bole Characteristics | A large tree but with a lower form factor than species (Strugnell 1941); bole grey in color, frequently tending to be fluted.

| Herbarium Characteristics | Usually elliptic-ovate or ovate, blunt or acute at the apex, about 9 × 5 cm, rather harshly hairy on both surfaces (deciduously on the upper); petioles about 2.5 cm long.
